[Spring 2026] Welcome! Orientation for New International Students
Under the beautiful cherry blossoms, our campus was happy to welcome 86 new international students from all over the world. We held an orientation to help them start their new life in Japan.
A Warm Message from the Vice President
The event began with a welcome speech by Prof. NAGAI Takahiro, Vice President for International Affairs and Global Strategy and Director of Institute for Global Engagement (IGE). The students listened very carefully to his words. Their expressions revealed both excitement and a little bit of nervousness on their faces as they started their new journey.

Exploring the Campus
During the orientation, students joined campus tours in small groups. They visited important places like the University Library. It was a great chance for them to see where they will study and feel the atmosphere of the university.

Making New Friends
A “Social Mixer” was also held for the new students. At first, some students were shy, but they soon started talking and laughing with their new classmates from different countries. It was wonderful to see so many smiles!

Thinking About the Future: Job-Hunting in Japan
The program also featured a specialized session titled “Job-Hunting Process in Japan.” Prof. SHIMADA Kazuhisa, Deputy Director of IGE, explained how to prepare for a career in Japan. He gave a simple roadmap for students:
• 1st & 2nd Year: Focus on Self-reflection and Future plans. Think about who you are and what you want to do.
• 3rd Year: Join Summer Internships and start looking at different companies.
• 4th Year: Start the Interview and Selection process.
The students were very interested to learn how to prepare for their future careers from their first year at the university.

Our Support
We will do our best to support all our international students. We hope you have a great time learning and meeting new people on our campus.
Welcome to our university!
